This article will show you how to do the following.
- Factory Reset a Polycom device
Methods:
This method only works for phones with the Polycom firmware v4.0.9.0509 or higher.
- 4.0.9.0509 has a grey and black UI.
- SIPIP is black and red and does not support this method.
Locate the phone's IP address using the following method.
IP Series: Press Menu>2>2>1 on the phone.
VVX Series: Press Home>Settings>4>1>1
Open a web browser and type in the IP address.
Select Admin
Password: 8446116110
456 (This is the default Polycom password.)
Click Utilities at the top.
Select Phone Backup & Restore.
Click Global Settings.
Click Restore.
Click Yes to restore to factory settings.
The phone will then factory reset and reboot.
Click here to provision the phone.
This method can take a few tries in order to be successful. If you do not see the "Enter Password" screen try again.
Polycom VVX Series
- From the Main Idle Screen (Where you can make a call) Hold down the buttons relating to the phone model listed above until it beeps or says "Enter Password"
- Models: VVX 300, 310, 400, 410, 500, 600: Press the 1, 3, and 5 dial pad keys
- Make sure no Asterisks are on the screen, indicating that characters had already been typed in for the password.
- If there are asterisks on the screen, press the << softkey on the screen to delete them.
- Type in the password 456 and press Enter.
- If the phone has previously contacted Audian servers, the password will be 8446116110.
- If the default 456 password and the Audian 8446116110 password do not work, please contact Audian support for the custom password.
- Click here to provision the phone.
Note: If the phone shows Momentum Telecom, try the 8642 or 9632 for the Admin PW.
Polycom IP Series
- From the Main Idle Screen (Where you can make a call), hold down the buttons relating to the phone model listed above until it beeps or says "Enter Password"
Models: 321, 331, 335, 450, SoundStation 5000 , 7000 and SoundStation Duo: Press 1, 3, 5, and 7 dial pad keys
Models: 550, 560, and 650, and VVX 1500: Press 4, 6, 8, and * dial pad keys
- Models: 6000: Press 6, 8, and * dial pad keys
- Make sure no Asterisks are on the screen, indicating that characters had already been typed in for the password.
- If there are asterisks on the screen, press the << softkey to delete them.
- Type in the password 456 and press Enter.
- If the phone has previously contacted Audian servers, the password will be 8446116110.
- Click here to provision the phone.
