How To - Setup Polycom Debugger

This article will show you how to do the following.

  • Enable Syslog/debugging

Syslog is a standard for logging data and forwarding log messages in an IP network. You can use Syslog to manage and secure devices, and to generate informational, analytic, or debugging messages. You can send Syslog messages using UDP, TCP, or TLS.


Methods:

  1. Get the phones IP address using the following method.
    1. IP Series: Press Menu>2>2>1 on the phone.
    2. VVX Series: Press Home>Settings>4>1>1 on the phone.
  2. Open a web browser and type in the IP address.

    Newer firmware versions will require HTTPS:// to access the GUI.
  3. Enter in the login credentials.
    1. Username: admin
    2. Password: 8446116110 OR 456 if the Polycom is in a default state
  4. Click Settings, and then select Logging.
  5. View the image below and match the settings.
  6. Click Save.
