How To - Provision Panasonic HDV Phones

This article will show you how to do the following.

  • How to manually provision the phone with Opt 66 enabled on the clients DHCP server.
  • How to manually provision the phone without Opt 66

Methods:


With a DHCP server that can have an option added:


  1. Add a DHCP option 66 entry for:
  2. http://q.audian.com/p/CUSTOMERPROVISIONSTRING/{MAC}.cfg – so for example: http://q.audian.com/p/7xtsvx4cue/{MAC}.cfg
  3. Reboot phones and they will automatically provision.

Without a DHCP option:


  1. Enable the web UI by pressing the Menu softkey button on the phone to bring up the menu.
  2. Press the Right Arrow twice to move to the third page of options.
  3. Select Basic Settings.
  4. Press the Right Arrow twice to move to the third page of options.
  5. Select Other Option.
  6. Select Embedded Web.
  7. Select On. The phone will emit a long tone and move back a page.
  8. Locate the IP address for the phone by pressing the Menu softkey button on the phone to bring up the menu.
  9. Press the Right Arrow twice to move to the third page of options.
  10. Select System Settings. The new page may take a moment to load.
  11. Select Status.
  12. Press the right arrow to move to the next page.
  13. Select IPV4 Settings
  14. Select IP Address
  15. Go to the phone’s IP from a web browser.
  16. User is “admin” and pass is “adminpass”
  17. Once logged in go to the “Maintenance” tab.
  18. Add the following into the first three sections per the screenshot below:
    1. http://q.audian.com/p/CUSTOMERPROVISIONSTRING/{MAC}.cfg – so for example: http://q.audian.com/p/7xtsvx4cue/{MAC}.cfg
