  • How to enable the WiFi function via USB WiFi dongle

Methods:

 Confirm Firmware Version

Before connecting the Wi-Fi adapter, the Polycom phone should be running the latest firmware. To verify the firmware version installed, follow the steps below:

  1. Press and hold 1,4 and 7 for 3-5 seconds.
  2. The Version # will be listed at the bottom of the screen.

NOTE: If your Polycom phone firmware is lower than version 6.3.0.14929, contact Audian Support for assistance to get the correct firmware loaded.

 Enable wireless connectivity

Once the correct firmware has been loaded, follow the steps below to set up the OBi wireless adapter:

1. Plug the the OBiWifi USB adapter to the USB port of the phone.
2. Select Start
3. Select Wi-Fi On.  
4. Select Yes to reboot the phone. Wi-fi is enabled after the phone reboots.

 Connect to a wireless network

After the phone reboots, follow the steps below to enable Wi-Fi:

1. Go to Settings > Basic > Wi-Fi.
2. Choose the network to connect to and enter the password (if prompted)
3. Select Connect.

 Connect to wireless via Wi-Fi Setup Prompt

When you plug unplug and reinsert the Wifi USB Dongle back into the phone, if will autostart a WiFi Setup Prompt. 

  1. After Inserting the Wifi USB, please press the Start button below the screen. 
  2. It will either begin an Autoscan for the nearby Wi-Fi SSIDs or you can hit the Scan Button below the screen. 
  3. Enter the Password, via the T9 Style Keyboard. (Example Press 9 three consecutive times to get to the letter "y")
    *For Capital letters select Encoding or Mode, and select ABC, abc, or Abc.
    *For Special Characters either dial "1", "*", or "#" to cycle through those symbols. 
  4. Hit the Connect button
  5. Now you should have a WiFi Icon showing you are connected at the top of the screen.
