This method only works for for Polycom firmware 4.0.9.0509

  • 4.0.9.0509 has a grey and black UI.
  • SIPIP is black and red and does not support this method.
  1. Locate the phones IP address using the following method.
    1. IP Series: Press Menu>2>2>1 on the phone.
    2. VVX Series: Press Home>Settings>4>1>1
  2. Open a web browser and type in the IP address.
    1. Select Admin
    2. Password: 456 (This is Polycoms default password)
  3. Scroll over Utilities
  4. Select Phone Backup & Restore
  5. Click Global Settings
  6. Click Restore
  7. Click Yes to restore to factory settings.
  8. The phone will then factory reset and reboot.
  9. Click here to provision the phone.

Polycom VVX Series

Models: VVX 300, 310, 400, 410, 500, 600: Press 1, 3, and 5 dial pad keys

  1. From the Main Idle Screen (Where you can make a call) Hold down the buttons relating to the phone model listed above until it beeps or says "Enter Password"
  2. Make sure no Asterisks are on the screen, indicating that characters had already been typed in for the password.
  3. If there are asterisks on the screen, press the "<<" Key that's on the screen to delete them.
  4. Type in the password 456 and Press Enter.

Polycom IP Series
