Description

This article will show you how to do the following.

  • Column reference settings

  • How to bulk add new users with or without devices, and softphones with the Audian excel sheet.

CSV File:

The importer tool is location based which means if you have 2 locations on the account you will need 2 CSV’s for each location.

CSV Form:

Table Color Key

  • Blue: These fields support multi resource creation per user. What this means is that you can define multiple phone numbers, extensions, and devices for a single user in the CSV. Please reference how to do this below.

  • Green: Admin only settings, when uploading the CSV only users that are Audian Techs can influence these values otherwise they will default to their standard values.

Adds custom notes on the user.

 How to add multiple devices, phone numbers, and extensions for a single user.

Description: The importer app supports adding multiple devices, phone numbers, and extensions to a single user.

Summary: Insert a row below the user, copy the email address of the user above into the new row, then add the resources. 

Cells that support this feature:

  • extension

  • phone_number

  • mac_address, brand, family, and model

How to insert rows between 2 filled out rows

  1. If you need to insert a row below the user to add the additional resources click on the row number below the user on the left. This should select the whole row.

  2. Right click and select insert and a row will appear between the rows.

How to add additional resources to a user.

  1. Copy the email address of the user who will be getting the additional resources and paste it in the email field, this is how the program will figure out that the user above has extra resources.

  2. If you are adding a phone number or extension, then just fill out the field.

  3. If you are adding another phone

    1. Copy the brand, family, and model cell from another row and paste it into this row so that you can use the drop downs to define the device.

    2. Enter in the mac address

 How to Upload the CSV

Description: This app allows you to import the CSV and will create the users, devices, and set feature keys for the devices.

  1. Navigate to the Location Bulk Importer via the Guided Setup and select the CSV option.

  2. Click or drag and drop the CSV file into the upload box.

  3. If the file is valid click the Next Step button

  4. Next you should see a review pages that will have 1 or 2 tabs labeled Valid Users and Invalid Users if your import has errors.

    1. If you have invalid users the errors will be displayed in the Errors/Notes and you will not be able to continue. You will need to fix the CSV and re upload.

  5. Click the Next Step button.

  1. The Upload and Create page will appear, in this phase you will need to click the Create button for Users, Numbers, and Devices one at a time.

    1. After clicking the create button you will see a Results button and the Imported and Failed bubbles should update. If you have any failed creations you should stop and look at what failed, take note of them as you might have to manually create them.

    2. Common Issues:

      1. Numbers: The number you imported already exists on the account or on another account.

  2. If all the imports are successful close the window.

Description: The form uses data validations to include all of the devices Audian has configuration files for. You will need to copy these fields in order to add more users.

  1. Open the Audian-CSV-Sheet.

  2. Determine how many users you would like to add then select the brand, family, model, and softphone cells labeled as None.

  3. Hover your mouse pointer over the bottom right corner of the selected cells where the green square is located, you should see a + symbol appear.

  4. Click and drag the mouse down equal to the number of users you would like to add and then release the click.

  5. Next, fill out the rest of the fields for each user you would like to add.

  6. For each new user assign the brand, family, and model by clicking on the drop-down for each cell.

  7. Save this file as a backup and then save the file again as a .csv file. You will use the CSV version in the app.
